BACKGROUND
Charge is an electric vehicle charging app that finds the closest charging station to the user, and view the station’s details, availability and range depending on the amount of battery the user has left. Charge was created as a part of a job simulation for Bp I did at Forage.

The Problem
With EV Vehicles on the rise, there is a need for a universal mobile charging app to allow users to navigate to the nearest charging station.
PRIMARY OBJECTIVES
There are two primary objectives of this app:
1. Find the closest charging station.
2. See if they have enough battery to get to the charging station.
Market Analysis
I first conducted some research on what features already existing EV apps already had.
To identify further user needs, I created a user persona that could represent part of the app's potential user base.
For Charge, I wanted the app to be simple, and easy to navigate. As a result, I wanted the visual design to match this intention, and ultimately lead to a very intuitive and practical design.

The Solution
User Research and Needs Assessment
Even though I had learned these concepts through courses, it was a great learning experience to improve those skills through this project. I the chance to walk through the entire design process here - from identifying a problem, to making a user persona, researching the market and finally, making a prototype.
Mobile App Design
I learned a lot about mobile app design through this project, specifically designing for IOS systems, and using the proper components, design system and gridlines to form a design.
